Excited by Izumida taking the sprint result, Hakone Academy pushes to the front. Meanwhile, Sohoku's team is scattered, and their terrible situation continues. Naruko expends energy as he clings to the lead pack and waits for the rest of his team to catch up. Teshima, Sakamichi, and Imaizumi are passed by Kumamoto Daiichi, and they fall deeper into despair.
